Then you've come to the right place: the steel darts department of TSV Korntal. As a darts club in Korntal, close to Ludwigsburg and right in the Stuttgart region, we're happy to welcome every new face – whether complete beginner or league pro.

COSTS & FEES
Membership fee
The annual membership fee covers both membership of TSV Korntal and of the steel darts department. It is collected once a year by direct debit.
You'll find more information and the membership form (in German) via the “Join us” button below. If you have any questions, our department heads will be happy to help.
Personal contribution
There is currently a one-off personal contribution of €25 towards your own player jersey.
There are no other mandatory contributions at the moment. Any changes are decided jointly by the department at its meetings.

1 · Do I need my own darts?
No. At the start we actually recommend not buying your own darts yet. We have plenty of material to try out — different barrels, shafts and flights — and many of our players carry several sets, so there is always something new to test. That way you can work out in your own time which weight, shape and grip suit your throw.
2 · Which darts are suitable for beginners?
That depends heavily on your own throw, so there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Most steel-tip players throw darts of roughly 20 to 26 grams, but barrel shape and grip matter more than weight. At training you can compare different models, and our players are happy to advise you before you spend any money.
3 · What should I wear to training?
Normal, comfortable clothes are fine. We do recommend closed shoes, because steel-tip darts occasionally end up on the floor.
4 · What is the difference between steel-tip darts and soft-tip darts?
In steel-tip darts you throw metal-tipped darts at a sisal board; in soft-tip (electronic) darts you throw plastic-tipped darts at an electronic board. Steel-tip is the version the professionals play at the big televised tournaments. TSV Korntal plays steel-tip only: the board hangs at 1.73 m and the throwing distance is 2.37 m.
5 · Do I need to be good at mental arithmetic?
No. The arithmetic comes almost by itself, and at the beginning the others will help you count. If you want to practise finishing, you can use our free checkout trainer right here on this website.
6 · What does a training evening look like?
Very informally: everyone warms up first, then it is open 501 — whoever turns up will find an opponent. There is no fixed programme. New faces are brought straight into the games, so you will not be left standing on the sidelines.
7 · Do I have to play league darts in a team?
No. Many members play in one of our teams, but it is not compulsory. You can simply train, focus on tournaments as an individual player, or improve at your own pace.
8 · Which league does TSV Korntal play in?
Our teams play in the Dartliga Schwaben (DLS): TSV Korntal One in the Bezirksoberliga, TSV Korntal Two in the Bezirksliga. In the 2025/26 season our first team went unbeaten to win the Bezirksliga title and earned promotion.
9 · From what age can you join in?
We have no fixed minimum age. Young players are welcome once it has been arranged with our department management and with their parents’ consent — just get in touch with us beforehand.
10 · What does membership of the darts club cost?
The annual fee is €135 and covers membership of TSV Korntal e.V. as well as the steel darts department. There is a one-off personal contribution of €25 for your own playing shirt. There are currently no other compulsory costs.
11 · How do I become a member?
Come to a trial session first and get to know us. If it feels right, you sign up using the membership form of TSV Korntal e.V. (in German) — we are happy to help you with it.
12 · I already play for another club. Can I transfer?
Yes — experienced players are very welcome, whether for one of our teams or as an individual player. Just get in touch with our department management and we will sort out the details of the transfer and your playing eligibility.
